INTERNATIONAL INITIATIVE
In response to the growing number of orphans in Uganda, Ray and Mary Christopher founded Humanitarian Hands Charities (formerly Humanitarian Hands Foundation) in 2006 to provide healthcare, quality education, literacy, and job skills training empowering the impoverished families in Africa and the vulnerable Immigrants and Refugees in the Dallas Metroplex.

The John H. and Marie Parrish Medical Clinic
The Uganda Ministry of Health reports that between 70,000 and 100,000 children die each year as a direct result of common diseases-the number one killer is Malaria. So why are there so many deaths? For the people living impoverished lives-finances, availability, and easy access to health care remains a constant haunting challenge. Poor health and death will prevail in communities that are impoverished and underserved.
How do you feel when you hear children crying out for help? We all would respond with an urgency to ask, "What can I do to help?" Humanitarian Hands Charities (HHCharities) has heard the cries of the people of Fort Portal, Uganda and have committed to respond with open arms! In order to save the lives of thousands of children from common diseases and treatable ailments, the John H. and Marie Parrish Medical Clinic opened on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 and is currently saving the lives of the children and the community. We invite you to join us as we also strive to help the expectant mothers and their unborn child.

There is an estimated cost to sustain, staff and operate the clinic annually of $120,000. Additional financial opportunities are available for interested organizations or individuals to purchase Naming Rights for particular rooms in the clinic or name recognition throughout the clinic.
So far, donors have supported this project to build the clinic with a total of $151,500. The financial support necessary to assist with sustainability of the clinic for two years is $240,000. This amount will also aid in the goal of the Ugandans operating a fully self sustaining clinic.
Additional Project Support
Maternity Ward Project
The question has been asked--Why is there a need to add on a Maternity Ward to the Parrish Medical Clinic? Here are some reasons why:
-
There have been numerous requests for maternity and delivery care at the John H. and Marie Parrish Medical Clinic.
-
Various public and private funding agencies are willing to financially support clinics that provide maternity services.
-
Many expecting mothers get prenatal (antenatal) care services from the clinic but when they are ready to deliver the mothers are referred to other health facilities for delivery that are not easily reachable nor affordable.
-
A benefit of this addition--The Parrish Medical Clinic has been enrolled in the network of PROFAM which is a program affiliated with the Population Service International (PSI), a US AID funded project. This program will assist with short and long term family planning. PROFAM is willing to financially and physically assist with maternity and other reproductive health services after the addition of the Maternity Ward.
Sponsor A Child
Education provides us with the tools we need to succeed throughout our lives. Unfortunately, everyone does not have the funds to obtain an education. Such is the case with many of the children living in Uganda. Humanitarian Hands Charities is seeking your support in striving to educate those children who are in need of financial assistance to attend school. Your generous donation provides a child's tuition for the academic year in the Ugandan Public School System. We invite you to join us as we continue "Building Hope... One Heart, One Life, One Community at a Time."
We are requesting that sponsors commit to contributing to the complete education of their child throughout their high school tenure.
Your generous donation provides for an orphan’s education/support as noted below:
